January 1956 Gelligaer Urban Council stated that the Surveyor undertook to report on the ownership and possibility of acquiring the plot of land south of the Welfare Football Ground, for development as a children’s playground.
July 1956 It was with regret that the committee heard that willful damage had been done to the pavilion on the playing field.
August 1956 It was decided to renew the fence around the playing field. Tenders were received for fencing the football field, and for new gates. The tender of Mr. S.V. Powell was accepted. It was decided to give a donation to the football team.
