7 July 1928 Pigeons Amongst the birds in the great Thurso race were two sent by Mr. James M. Davies, Fochriw. The birds were liberated at 7:20a.m., one arriving at Fochriw at 9:20p.m. Mr. Davies, a great pigeon fancier, has had a very successful year with his birds.
16 July 1927 Chess There are not many chess players in Fochriw, but a Chess Club is being started due to the enterprise of Messrs. Hollister, Curtis and Powell. The headquarters will be Pen Pwlla.
