Parc Cwm Darran (Mountains and Valleys)
Mountains and hills wherever you look
Many a dwelling each side of a brook
That swells to a river when heavy rain falls
Flowing down through the valley to the sea after all
Mountains with coverings of wimberries and heather
Bushes of gorse in gold and bright yellow
Ferns and areas of all shades of green
No scars left where the pit had once been.
For now there’s a park, a lake and play area
Where one can fish and stroll at one’s leisure
A cafe and mountains covered by tree
Where species of birds and herons fly free.
Royal Mail Box
Spare a moment, have a thought
If a postal box could talk
It would have a lot to say
About the hands that come its way
Hands that drop in happily
Congrats, good wishes to you from me
Hands that hover at the brim
Will I, won’t I? Drop it in
Hands that drop in eagerly
Please send a letter back to me
Spare a moment have a thought
If a postal box could talk
It would not wish to be alone
Whilst we use the telephone
Grandma’s Advice
The alarm goes off its time to get up
You’ll soon revive with that first cup
Then to the bathroom, leave it clean
No-one needs know where you have been
When getting dressed please do not shed
Unwanted clothes upon the bed
Cupboards are there for us to keep
All items. Leave the bedroom neat
Breakfast over, don’t leave a mess
Clean as you go along, that’s best
Leaving for work? then look around
Check your home is safe and sound
Clear up before you retire at night
Don’t get up to a depressing sight
Your home is your castle let it be
As beautiful as you’d like it to be
